Ever wondered what it's like buying a boat? Here we've simplified the purchasing process to give you a basic understanding of how things work. Of course the steps may vary from boat to boat, but this is the general structure that applies to both pre-owned and new boats.
Contact Wilson Boating:
It's as easy as giving us a call or sending us an email!
Consider Your Options:
We will provide you with a list of boats that fit your requirements for you to pick out
Arrange a Viewing:
Wilson Boating will contact the seller on your behalf to arrange a viewing
Make an Offer:
After the viewing, if the boat is to your liking we will walk you step by step to make an offer. This may include lots of back in forth with the selling party as we lobby them to accommodate any special requests or conditions you may want to include in the deal.
After your Offer is Accepted:
This is only the beginning and there is still lots to do! It is now time to work on meeting the conditions you set up. Some typical conditions we may require is a Marine Survey, where a professional Marine Surveyor will confirm the condition of the boat, and a Sea Trial, which is a great time for you to get your first taste of what cruising your new boat would be like. There are lots of steps involved in removing these subjects, but these are in place to make sure you will be happy with your purchase. We will be here at every step to help with scheduling and communicating.
Planing the finer details:
Should the Marine Survey and Sea Trial reveal any new information, we will help you negotiate with the seller or plan any necessary maintenance for you. This is also a good time to think about where you want to keep your boat and what type of insurance you would want covering your new boat.
Close the Deal:
Congratulations! Purchasing a new boat can be very intimidating and seem complicated. But with the help of Wilson Boating, we will help simplify the process and get you the boat of your dreams.
